Back in the USA

We arrived at BWI safe and sound Friday afternoon. Ironically, there was a contingent of sailors headed back to Bethesda Naval medical center after a trip to Afghanistan so there was a huge turnout to welcome us home. 3-star admiral, 2-star admiral, lotsa O-5s and O-6s, and many folks just waving flags and waiting to see their loved ones. It seemed fitting that after a year overseas, we Thule folks got the welcome home we deserved, too. My thanks to the folks at the USO and Operation Welcome Home (Maryland) for making it a great return to the USA. (Yeah, I know it's not the greatest picture.) Thanks to everyone who helped make the year tolerable for me and especially for Doreen, Erin and Kit. Next stop: Alexandria, VA!
